He was the third Sultan of the Geledi sultanate, reigning from 1798 to 1848. ==Biography== Yusuf was the son of the Somali Sultan Mahamud Ibrahim, and the grandson of Ibrahim Adeer. His rule marked the start of the golden age of the Geledi. Sultan Yusuf's army emerged victorious during the Bardheere Jihad, which restored stability in the region and revitalized the East African ivory trade.
